Picnics in old books always fascinate me. Everyone dressed up and took long hikes to open areas where servants set up tents and tables full of more food than could possibly be consumed in one afternoon. They would lounge around and nap or play games until the sun was about to set, then make the trek back home to do more lounging.
So, minus the servants, let’s prepare some picnic food and make a trek to a local park (or the backyard) to eat and play games with family or friends. You can go as fancy or simple as you want. Bring a card game you like, play a game of tag or frisbee, roll down a hill a few times, or sit on a bench and read a book. Then pack it all up and head back home.
