This is a fun exercise that really gets the giggles going. It’s fun and freeing to make drawings that look like a three year old did them. Get a stack of animal picture books, a pencil, and a drawing pad. While looking at a picture you like, start drawing that animal on the paper without looking at it, and without lifting your pencil off the paper. Remember, this is not about the finished product. It’s about carefully observing your subject. Get ready to laugh at yourself–believe me, you will! After you have made a few drawings, color them in if you like.
