(This session was originally posted in April, so you may need to get creative with your chalk drawing during the winter.)
New chalk in spring makes me just as happy as a fresh box of crayons in the fall. I love the impermanence of it, making graffiti everywhere that gets washed away with the next rain. Chalk is cheap, and you don’t have to be a great artist to have fun with it. As an added bonus, you’re getting fresh air and moving around.
Take your box of chalk outdoors. Make your pictures big, write out your positive words, circle bugs. Offer to babysit and play a hopscotch game, hangman, tic tac toe, or trace each other. Go big and make a mural! If you live in an apartment or have an HOA, you may have to find another place where chalk is allowed.
