Session 124: Be a Copycat

Get inspiration from your favorite artists by copying a piece of art the same way a band plays cover songs until they find their own sound. You will learn new skills as you go along, and eventually you won’t need those training wheels to make your own original art. This is not limited to painting or drawing. Try something with clay, fabric, embroidery, knitting, even cake decorating! Here’s a piece I made from felt and beads that I copied from an artist I discovered on Pinterest. It took me weeks to finish, but I gained a lot from the process. Use your hour today to choose your copycat project, then gather what you need to make it happen! Remember, have fun! If your art isn’t even close to the original, that’s ok!
